CryptPad is a French open-source, privacy-first collaborative office suite developed by XWiki SAS. Founded in 2015, it provides encrypted alternatives to Google Docs, Google Sheets, Slides, and more — all with zero-knowledge encryption, meaning even the server cannot read your documents. The platform includes rich text documents, spreadsheets, presentations, whiteboards, Kanban boards, code editors, and forms. Users can collaborate in real time without creating an account. CryptPad can be self-hosted for maximum privacy, or used on the official cryptpad.fr instance. It is funded through subscriptions and grants, remaining independent and advertisement-free.
